The challenge

REMA 1000 is a Norwegian discount grocery retailer with around 1,000 stores across Norway and Denmark.Their ‘Stavset’ grocery store in Trondheim, is focused on making shopping as easy as possible for their customers, provide a safe working environment for their staff and optimising in-store logistics.

The Solution

REMA 1000 installed the Vensafe Select & Collect solution from StrongPoint to securely store high-theft items such as razor blades, cosmetics, fragrances, ink cartridges, video games, medication, condoms, pregnancy tests, and tobacco products.

All transactions and events on the Vensafe vending machine are logged, including sales and physical actions like stock refills and door openings. Each product sold can be traced back to the point of sale, ensuring full visibility over stock and sales activity.

“We’ve found everything to be much easier and more time-efficient with Vensafe. Previously, employees had to run around the store restocking goods, but now it’s much simpler. We no longer need to restock during opening hours, eliminating clutter and bags in customer areas. We now perform a ‘raid’ every Sunday to restock and order inventory.
