Baltic Retail Forum 2024 conference cycle started in Latvia
The annual Baltic Retail Forum conference organized by StrongPoint began its tour of the Baltic countries in Riga this year. The event for retail sector professionals took place on April 10 and brought together 120 participants interested in sector innovations.
At the event, 8 experts shared insights, experiences, and ideas on various topics – from the intricacies of consumer behavior to ways to address common retail challenges. The conference was opened by SEB bank economist Dainis Gašputis, who presented an analysis of the economic environment and overviews of perspectives. Eva Kieperszo from the KOG Institute and NielsenIQ representative Marta Brūvere delved into the characteristics of consumer behaviour and motivation in these economic conditions.
Technology experts have called for turning to technology to solve everyday trade challenges. Jacob Huisamen, representative of NCR VOYIX, shared insights on the extremely relevant issue of loss prevention for retailers. Simon Geisman and Mitchell Goldman, representatives of Zebra Technologies and Edgify, reviewed the evolution and prospects of self-service shopping technologies to analyse the opportunities for improving the user experience. Finally, Kjetil Velde from AutoStore talked about the possibilities of improving supply chain efficiency and presented a robotic warehouse solution, which is very relevant for e-commerce players.
Also, at the conference, Nerijus Udrėnas, director of the charity and support fund “Food for Ukraine”, talked about the extraordinary retail challenges. He revealed to the audience how the Novus retail chain manages to operate and provide food and other essential goods to people in war-torn Ukraine.
Additionally, a whole series of technology solutions were waiting for the participants to view and test at the event expo area: a parcel locker, Auto-ID equipment, POS equipment and software solutions, VoCoVo voice communication system, electronic price tag innovations and a model of the robotic AutoStore warehouse. In addition, Verifone representatives presented the news of bank terminals.
We are happy and thank all the participants, speakers, and partners of the event for the 18th forum! The Baltic Retail Forum, which takes place in three Baltic countries, will gather the retail community in Estonia for another day full of knowledge next month.
