Retail sector news was discussed at the Baltic Retail Forum 2024 in Estonia
Our annual conference Baltic Retail Forum continues its tour of the Baltic countries – on May 7, it took place in the capital of Estonia. The event brought together more than 120 retailers and technology enthusiasts, determined to gain knowledge, discuss news, and discover ways to effectively apply the most relevant innovations.
Expert speakers took center stage to delve into a diverse array of topics shaping the retail sector. This time, technology experts Mark Thomson from Zebra Technologies and Linas Dabulskis from iToDEV analysed the artificial intelligence possibilities and successful examples. AiFi representative Rehman Mohammed and Rimi Baltic IT partner Meeliis Migur reviewed the intricacies of the increasingly popular autonomous stores. M. Migur also discussed the recently opened Rimi autonomous store in Tallinn. Next, Oskar Kringlebotten from AutoStore shed light on the role of automation technologies for warehouses in optimizing supply chains, while Jacob Huisamen from NCR VOYIX provided valuable strategies for minimizing losses in retail operations.
Economist Mihkel Nestor of SEB Bank shared insights about economic trends and forecasts. Meanwhile, the consumer behaviour affected by these economic conditions was analysed by Erlend Villems, head of NielsenIQ in Estonia. In addition, Kaidi Kandla, Head of Research at Inspired Universal McCann, revealed to attendees how to stand out in the media noise and capture customer’s attention.
In addition to thought-provoking presentations, attendees had the opportunity to explore a variety of technological innovations showcased in the exhibition area: parcel locker, Auto-ID equipment, POS equipment and software solutions, VoCoVo voice communication solution, electronic shelf labels and a model of the automated AutoStore micro-fulfillment center. Also, Verifone representatives presented new bank terminals.
The forum concluded with gratitude to all participants, speakers, and partners for their contributions to a successful and informative event. As the Baltic Retail Forum continues its journey across the region, organizers look forward to future gatherings, further fostering collaboration and innovation within the retail industry.
